Does Journi require a certain operating system or browser?
  • The Journi website has been built to accommodate all major browsers and operating systems. However, for the best experience we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox.
  • The Journi website has been tested against the following browser and operating system versions:
Internet Explorer 11
Microsoft Edge
Windows 7 and later
(excludes Arcade and Games)
Mac OS 10.10 (El Capitan and later)
How do I find out what my operating system or browser version is?
  • As there are various operating systems and browsers available, we suggest the best way by to find yours is through the use of Google search engine. Simply enter your request as a question, for example, 'how do I find my Windows 10 version number?', or 'how do I find my Google Chrome version number?'. You will then find various helpful guides on how to find your operating system or browser version.
Will Journi run on a smartphone or tablet?
  • Journi has been designed to work best on a desktop or laptop as these are the most common platforms used in many Queensland classrooms.
  • Journi will work on tablet devices, however, tablet users will not be able to access the Arcade, Journi Games (Riskski, DJ Skull and Cross Match) or use the Scratch program to complete the 'Coding a Digital Game' assessment. This is due to the current technical limitations of tablets devices. When you reach these steps in your Journi, select 'Let's Move On' to bypass them. You will still be able to watch the videos, answer the quiz questions and complete other parts of the assessment.
  • We do not recommend using Journi on a smartphone device as many important features of the program will not be accessible.
Will Journi work on a laptop computer?
  • Yes, Journi is designed to work best on laptops and desktops.
  • Tip: If you are accessing Journi on a laptop, you should ensure your screen magnification is set at 100%. This will allow you to view the entire Journi experience.
The 'Spot The Danger' test isn't working. What should I do?
  • If you are on a desktop or laptop: Check your screen magnification is set at 100%, or continue to reduce magnification until you are able to see the entire scene.
  • If you are on a tablet: The 'Spot The Danger' test works best in landscape mode. If your screen does not automatically rotate, check the 'screen rotation' setting is not locked or switch your tablet to landscape mode manually.
